. {beta - but really, when aren't we in beta mode.. "perfect is the death of good"}

Originally I created this website as an art project, a canvas to express myself. As it is with everything, change is the only constant; it grew, and it drifted, and it morphed into something I hope will be accessible as a collective space in which others may express themselves too.

Either way, as it is always so, it is what it is. And I enjoyed building it, from initial design to programming and updates. I imagined virtually every aspect, the artwork, the navigation flow, and all of the themes in between. It may appear to be centered around paddling, but this is only the curators preferred medium in which to explore.

Timelapses are for everyone, space to find center, to retain self authority over ones attention span, and in doing so recognize, "the world is only what we look at".

In this space "with time out of the picture, we have all the time we need" here we gift empathy for our future selves.

In a previous chapter of my life I was audacious enough to imagine being the first Olympic Triathlon Champion and waving a very large Canadian flag before going out with a spectacular, and yet not, crash, and a yard sale, my life on the front lawn for all to see.

In the present I often get asked,

"What do you do now"?

I create, I explore, I read, I play and I dream, I am passionate about the art of learning.

In doing so I believe this is how I express empathy as "all art is an act of forgiveness".

I engage my children with an open heart, as their advance scout I have seen a bit further down the path, with their gift being to remind me of all that to which I have already forgotten, starting with play and imagination (Mastery as play), as it is with all "others", we are mirrors, reflections, to have an open heart means to clear away any debris and subsequent distortions.

Beyond my family I work tirelessly to build our business ventures and I paddle, as I simply love dancing on the ocean in the spaces in between.

I see myself as a “performance decision making facilitator” a “conceptualization consultant” with Whitfield Performance Consulting and Relentless Pursuit Partners

I am inspired when I am able to focus the full scope of my mental landscape on "underlying unifying symmetries”; the maths of aligning common themes, to conceptualize, construct and orchestrate prosperous outcomes. When focused on my passions I feel once again fully engaged in Ecstasis "stealing fire" - a state of "Deep Now". A state of mind I was able to enter and maintain so often during my athletic career, propelling me to four Olympics, two Olympic medals, the honour of Flagbearer and the singing of Oh Canada.

We thrive when we are, as author Ken Lui calls it "vibrating in sympathy with the waveform of the groove" - flow -  perpetual presence, fully immersed in the precise application of energy, engaged in the moment, peak performance, the joy of Mastery.

Think of "mastery as play" and a vinyl record the performance; we are the needle.

To be "vibrating in sympathy with the waveform of the groove", to be engaged in performance, to play in the waveform.

To exist as such is to be in Harmony.

I am fascinated by "Mastery", to be a master of your own domain, beginning with a sense of 'being' while engaging in constructive defiance with others, in common enterprise, we are satisfying our need to belong, sustained by the courage to commitment to daily rituals, through self regulation, in which we focus our energy on the smallest of incremental gains, sequencing the dominoes in order to orchestrate the visions of our most vivid imagination.

I believe the fundamental question is not "who am I" but “How do I coincide with we?".

Through communication, a deep commitment to continuously shifting our interactions with others from those which are 'transactional' to fulfilling 'relational' relationships. This begins by making a subject object shift; do you perceive your self and others with an opinion, subject to your own bias, and their interpretation, or are you objective, what do you know as simple facts.

With this shift we exist "as if", as if you were the other, and cultivate in our selves, willing acceptance of  another perspective.

The opposite of love being  indifference. Love is the answer, "hate being the poison you feed yourself" and "anger a scalding hot rock you hold in your hand ready to throw at another".

In order to coexist with others we must create safe space for others to prosper, clear of debris which refracts and distorts all communication between us. We must find a sense of belonging within ourselves, to love oneself, the power of positive affirmations and gratitude's, "live into your values".

By acknowledging and accepting our human survival instinct, our internal drive to just keep walking, followed by a shared and unspoken understanding that by not shining the light of truth we enter the 'dark forest', "the endless chain of suspicion loop", the centre of which being mutually assured destruction; "the truth a bully we all pretend to love". As it is such we must commit ourselves to constructive defiance, a systematic approach which relies on our ability to collaborate with others by innovating together with the aim of building new apparatus upon the current structure in order grow; to flourish and prosper, collaborative problem solving.

Innovation relies on courage, curiosity, creativity and collaboration;  to be united in “collective conscious”, a sense of belonging.

I believe when fully engaged we are able to see patterns in the world around us, this solution based approach is driven by  “as is I look I am” or “look where you want to go” “the world is only what you look at”. When we engage in this mindset, which begins by priming our emotional state, through daily ritual, the stories we tell ourselves will be focused on solutions and the strategies we deploy will move us in the direction we wish to go; as compared to avoiding our problems "state, story, strategy". In a primed emotional state we are able to express ourselves, make a positive contribution in service to others and in turn we are rewarded with enlightenment by our experiences and in so doing we may be grateful for fulfilling (and at times challenging) relationships.

With that in mind I am inspired by those who lead fascinating inquisitive lives.

Live to explore.

Find time to be still.

Appreciate and devour literature.

Hear music as the language of the universe.

Feel the beat to connect with dance.

And practice constructive defiance,

Unafraid to play "imagine if" - the game we play as kids.

Welcome to

It is what it is
